Langley Cricket Club are delighted to announce the renewal of our partnership with Gaea and Tegg’s Nose Apartments.
Chairman Matt Stevens: “Business owner Nigel Goodman has supported Langley CC now for several years and in fact has moved from Langley to Estonia so this is a first for Langley having a multi-national partnership! Nigel and his team have some amazing apartments and a beautiful nature farm continuing to enhance and develop the local area and economy.”
Nigel Goodman commented: “We are proud to support Langley Cricket Club and applaud the good work they do in the local community.”
Tegg’s Nose Apartments are surrounded by the green desert of silage-grass fields, but alongside the superb Tegg’s Nose Country Park we are committed to making Tegg’s Nose Nature Farm an oasis for nature and wildlife. Nigel has worked with vision for the land and within the properties to achieve this goal. The two apartments have been refurbished using many recycled, reclaimed and sustainable products.
The land around the farm is being transformed to help us become self-sufficient in seasonal fruit and vegetables. A field has been replanted as a fruit and nut tree orchard, and areas are being planted as Forest Garden. A wildlife meadow was planted in 2017 and is a delight to see when the flowers are in full bloom: a haven for the insects, bees and wildlife.
Another challenge we conquered was to create the largest nature pond in the area at this altitude. As it’s on the hill, swales were added that also create a different form of nature habitat. The local RSPB society holds a yearly pond dipping and the A+ results show that being pesticide and chemical free leads to a great variety of aquatic mini beasts. The rescue hens, collected from intensive egg farming, live out a few years in real freedom and produce a few eggs sold at the gate.
